Gadgets That Are Helpful For Moms

As moms, we want balance in our everyday life. Whether it’s at home or in the workplace, we want to be able to get the most out of our time without the stress that it entails.

I wanted to put together a list of gadgets that I believe will help us as moms to be able to be more efficient at home. That would mean more time for family life or other excursions.

Here is a list of my favorite top 5, household gadgets that has really helped me to get more accomplished with less time.

Vacuum cleaner

Your choice of a vacuum cleaner is very important. It differentiates between whether you will be taking the entire day to clean your house or getting more done in a quicker time.

My all-time favorite vacuum cleaner also steams my floor and mops as well. So not only do I get a steamed floor, but my floors are vacuumed and mopped all in one shot.

I am not using a dirty mop that drags the dirt all over the house and I don’t have to sweep or vacuum before I mop, which is what I use to do before (yeah!).

I don’t know if you enjoy spending a lot of time cleaning but honestly, I don’t. I want to get my house in order with less time so that I can play with my kids and do other family-related events.

When picking a vacuum make sure to find one that is an “all-in-one” to save some time with household cleaning. Of course, my wish is to have a cleaner come in daily to clean my house, but until that happens, I will have to make do with my current situation.

This is the current vacuum cleaner that I use. My hubby has tried to get me away from it, and got a MOP (ugh!), but nope. I love my vacuum.

Here is also another version of the vacuum from the same company that is similar to what I currently have. It’s a more updated version with the same functions.

Robot vacuum Cleaner

I am pretty sure our grandmothers who had to get the “coconut brush” to scrub the floors back in the days would be screaming right now. What a vacuum that cleans and can mop too! Yeah, it’s heavenly don’t you agree?

I think so too. However, I don’t quite like the price tag yet, but I have found a few that I am willing to keep until I can afford the more luxurious ones. However, it’s really helpful for floor cleaning, especially with kids that drop things all over the floor.

So my “new best friend”, the robot vacuum cleaner is my go-to for in-between cleanings. It keeps my floor clean and tidy all the time, but costs way less than the expensive ones.

So before I am able to justify the splurge for the ones with the “hefty” price tag, I like to keep my $70 (on sale) purchase for a little longer. There is also an upgraded version of this model that includes a mop attachment.

Drill brush

This drill brush is amazing! Like really this is amazing! Whoever came up with this idea, the moms salute you.

This is not the regular brush that you use to clean your bathrooms, stove, etc. This is a brush that really removes the dirt with a lot less effort on your part.

You don’t need to pre-soak, spray or do anything extra but just have a regular home drill that you attach the brush to at the top and just clean away.

It’s not only used to clean the bathroom but also the stove with heavy oil spills or grease, countertops with the sticky stuff, etc.

It’s so easy to use and reduces your cleaning time down by half. I love it and highly recommend it to all my moms out there.

Instant pot

If you have not gotten an Instant Pot as yet, I am going to say, you’re missing out. The reason is that I know we were conditioned to spend a lot of time prepping our meals in the kitchen as our mothers, and generations before us have done.

But let’s be honest, do you really have the time that they have with this current society? Most of us as women are mostly outside the home and time is less especially to get home-cooked meals done.

But this gadget helps me so much, especially with rice, stews, soups, and pasta (my favorite dish to make with this). I have left rice on the stove long enough to know that I needed this pot in my life.

Here is an interesting scenario! My husband’s traditional foods (Ghana), require that you spend the whole day in the kitchen with your pot on the stove. I did the same recipe in the instant pot and got dinner done in less time. I didn’t have to wait on the stove all day.

FYI: Top-secret (don’t tell him), it tastes the same…the same, like no different. My husband doesn’t even notice (shh!). This is a must-have for moms, it really helps.

I have also been able to finally retire my crockpot because guess what, it has that function too! Fewer gadgets are my goal!

I will probably post some of the recipes, I was able to get done with my instant pot. Keep looking out for that.

The Ninja Foodi digital air fry oven

I don’t like a lot of gadgets, I’m a simple mom. Too many gadgets get me using non of them, because of the overwhelm.

My poor toaster oven has seen better days, but I wanted an air fryer but not an air fryer alone because it’s too much stuff for me to figure out and I don’t like figuring things out. I just want to push a button and it works.

So I wanted an air fryer but I also wanted a new toaster oven and here comes NINJA FOODI!

OMG, where have you been all my life?

This gadget came into my life and just transformed my world. I love how many functions this one gadget has. I have yet to turn my oven on. Can you believe it?

In my first trial, I placed three whole large-size tilapia fish (my husband’s cultural meal ) in the oven and air roast them to perfection.

I am also able to continue using it for my toaster oven functions and it’s just perfect.

As I mentioned earlier, I am not a gadget junkie, but I will tell you a few appliances that I believe are really helpful for us as moms trying to find balance with everything going on in our lives.
