Breastfeeding is fundamental in the growth and development of children. Breastmilk provides a wonderful supply of the necessary nutrients that a child may need as they grow to become more independent kids. Therefore it is also important to ensure that you have the right breastfeeding products to ensure your success with breastfeeding.
I was, fortunately, able to breastfeed both of my children from birth. My first was supplemented with formula and weaned off a little after turning one, while my second was exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months and continued through to almost age two.
I understand that it can be challenging, especially for working moms who may have to pump at work to provide their children with breast milk.
I have experienced both situations and as such have provided you with products that I feel are very helpful no matter what stage in the breastfeeding process you find yourself.
So here is a list of my top breastfeeding products that I have used throughout both pregnancies.
Have you also found any ideas that you could share? Please feel free to add to my list, or ask your questions or concerns below. I would be happy to help you!
“I have breastfed both my kids. My first for a little over a year and my second for 2 years with exclusive for 6 months (yikes!).”
Spectra Baby -USA S1 Plus Breast Pump
This was my favorite pump of all time hands down! It was an effective and powerful breast pump that was really efficient when it came to pumping (Hospital Strength is a must-have).
While at work, during my pumping sessions, I was able to get more milk out in a short 15-minute break session. It is comparable to a hospital-grade pump without the price and bulky attachments.
It made life and the dreaded pumping at work experience a little easier. It was very comfortable and quiet, which were also two of my requirements when I did my research. (Do check also if it is available for free with your insurance provider or for an additional cost to upgrade).
Medela Freestyle Mobile Double Electric Breast Pump, Hands-Free Breast Pump
This was my all-time favorite on-the-go travel breast pump. The hands-free option and lightweight travel portability enabled me to travel with ease.
I brought this pump on my way to a weekend conference where I only had a carry-on bag. I was able to pack it in my bag and had no problems going through the TSA checkpoint. This is a must for traveling moms!
They have upgraded this device with way more options than I had since I last breastfed my child. Check out the new upgrades!
Lansinoh® Simple Wishes Size Hands-Free Pumping Bra
I fell in love with this bustier when I was breastfeeding my first child midway through the experience.
I wish I had discovered it earlier however because it would have no doubt save me holding up my breast cups during every pumping session especially the dreaded nighttime or at work sessions.
It is therefore a MUST-HAVE for breastfeeding!
Lansinoh Disposable Stay Dry Night and Day Pads
The BEST in nursing pads! I have tried other products and have had some shareable embarrassing stories of pads sticking out of your tops or falling right out of your bra in public!
Yes, it happens. Do not in any way buy any pad without adhesive that enables the pad to attach to the bra and keep it from moving around.
Lansinoh Disposable pads are my all-time favorites. They are individually packaged for quick slip into work or travel bags. They stick(yes!) to the bra. They are comfortable and do not feel wet or leaky at any time. A MUST buy!
Lansinoh® HPA® Lanolin Breast Creme
While breastfeeding, I occasionally became sore and experienced cracked nipples, especially during the first stages of breastfeeding when my child was learning to latch on and suck.
Improper latching can cause painful cracks in your nipples that will make breastfeeding uncomfortable until they heal. My lactation specialist at the hospital recommended the use of a breast cream to help.
Medical-grade purified lanolin helps to soothe and heal nipples (DO NOT USE CREAMS OR LOTIONS!). The Lansinoh brand was my all-time favorite product to use.
Lansinoh® 100-Count Breastmilk Storage Bags
These bags were my favorite to use when storing pumped breast milk. The double zipper seal and the leak-proof feature I like the most (a must for working and traveling moms).
They are specially designed for convenient and safe storage and freezing of breast milk. They are also pre-sterilized medical-grade milk storage bags.
Kiinde™ Twist Pouch Direct-Pump Breastmilk Storage Pouches
On one of my weekend travel experiences, I, unfortunately, forgot to carry my breast milk bags and decided to grab something in a local store. I came across these storage pouches and was blown away by them.
I fell in love with them and would recommend them for working and traveling moms. The Twist Pouch by Kiinde allows you to collect, store, and feed using the same pouch. It’s like a baby’s bottle without the added use of a disposable breastmilk storage bag.
So I went back home and explored this product and found that it was an entire breastfeeding storage and supply system. I WISH I HAD THIS IN THE BEGINNING! Where were you all my life?
Kiinde™ Twist Gift Set (Collect, Store, Feed and Warm)
The Kiinde Gift Set is SOO perfect for nursing moms. With the Twist system, pumping, storing, organizing, and feeding is all done using the same pouch, eliminating the need for constant transferring of precious “liquid gold” breastmilk.
I recommend this by far for all my new mommas! It just takes the guesswork out of everything.
A perfect registry gift for new moms!
Overall, these products are my all-time favorite for breastfeeding. After 3 years of going at it, I would not trade the experience for anything.
I have taken out the guesswork and provided you with breastfeeding products that I myself have used and loved. I hope this will help to encourage you in your breastfeeding journey.
